Labradorite’s Blue Canopy

Turquoise and pale aqua sweep across this labradorite’s broad face, meeting deeper blue patches and yellow-green accents. Dark grey and black areas give the colours a striking contrast, while fine dark lines and irregular streaks thread through the smooth, glossy surface.

Bright white reflections add crisp points of light to the blue-green face.

With its upright, roughly rectangular outline and softly rounded corners, the piece suggests a little window into an imagined canopy: aqua leaves, blue shadows and yellow-green glimpses between them. The dark streaks become slender branches crossing that luminous world.
