Amethyst’s Little Cavern of Light
Pale lavender deepens into richer purple across this amethyst’s densely clustered points. Bright white highlights catch on the small, angular facets, while whitish-grey borders and touches of brown trace the rough outer edges. The contrast gives the sparkling crystal faces a lovely, rugged frame.
Amethyst takes its name from the Greek amethystos, reflecting an old belief about sobriety. That glimpse of its naming history adds another layer of interest to a crystal already full of contrasts: pale and deep, jagged and gleaming.
The broad, roughly triangular shapes taper upwards, suggesting a little luminous cavern in miniature. In that imagined world, uneven borders become rocky thresholds and the crowded facets become purple-lit walls—each small plane catching a separate flash of white.
