Tiger Eye’s Rust and Ochre Landscape

Rust-orange, reddish-brown and ochre-yellow give this tiger eye a warmly varied palette, crossed by dark grey to nearly black curved lines. Its upright, roughly rectangular form has an uneven sloping top and irregular edges, keeping the outline as expressive as the colours within it.

The highlights catch along raised edges, contrasting with the deep shadows in its recesses.

Ridges, pits and visible cracks interrupt broader, flatter surfaces, offering plenty of detail to follow. The palette suggests an imagined meadow of ochre grasses and rust-coloured earth, with dark paths winding through it—a little landscape echoed in the stone’s curved lines.
