A Little Landscape in Raw Kyanite

Pale blue-grey and off-white run through this raw kyanite’s overlapping, blade-like forms. Beige patches and rusty orange-brown touches interrupt the cooler colours, giving the rough surface a varied, earthy palette. Raised ridges catch bright highlights, while irregular crevices hold dark shadows—a contrast that brings its uneven layers into sharp relief.

Its broad, elongated outline has jagged edges and a narrower projection. You might picture a tiny frozen landscape here: angular ledges crossed by warm-coloured traces, each ridge catching a little light. That meeting of pale colour and rugged texture gives the piece its character.
