Quartz’s Cloudlit Peak

This quartz brings bright reflections and soft cloudiness into the same slender outline. Colourless areas mingle with milky white and pale grey, while partly translucent sections offer glimpses of the cloudy interior. Across the broad, smooth-looking faces, fine linear marks and irregular white lines add a delicate intricacy: there is more to notice here than the pointed silhouette first suggests.

Flat faces rise towards sloping upper edges, meeting at a point that sits a little off-centre. It gives the quartz an appealing asymmetry, like a tiny imagined mountain whose summit has wandered away from the middle.
