Dendritic opal attracts the eye with its milky white colour, and it contains fern, moss, or tree-like patterned inclusions of metallic oxides like manganese and iron. The patterns in the stone are never the same, just like snowflakes. These opal fillers are often formed at relatively low temperatures and have a resinous lustre. Although the crystal is found all over the world, its largest sources are in Australia. Dendritic opal was discovered here in the 19th century and quickly became a favourite of the royal family.
The wearer of the stone becomes more open, more articulate and at the same time a strong-minded person. The water and plant patterns in the crystal are thought to symbolize life and harmony. It is the key created by nature to self-awareness and clarity of mind.
